Memorial Day weekend was chill. Volunteered for the Silver Lake Jubilee. Day 1 was cool, I worked at the entrance info booth and got to talk to nice people, and my partner was really chill. I got to see Autolux at the end, and they were pretty awesome. Day 2 was alright. My job was pretty boring and was a bit unfriendly compared to the first day. I had to watch over the back entrance and had to be a jerk to tell people that they can’t enter unless they were residents. Almost got runover 3 times. However, I did meet a traffic officer, who gave me a Gatorade, a nice old lady who gave me an Arizona Iced Tea, and a dude having a yard sale. After my shift, I got to walk around the festival and saw one decent band, an interesting ballet/live music performance, and a really interesting show, even though I wasn’t into the music and didn’t take pictures. Kinda left early since I was tired. Overall, it was fun to see local bands play. I would definitely volunteer next year and hopefully I could get the stage.
